My HO New Zealand Trains
(mainly Frateschi models plus a few extra converted from other makes)
My Models
Da,Dar,Db,Dc,Dft,Dh,Ds,Dx plus other private NZ locos plus rolling stock. These are the models that I used to run on the Waverley Layout (Layout now dismantled waiting major rebuild). Most of these trains are made by Frateschi, some by Bachmann, Hornby and Lima. Some of them are as bought from the model shops but others I have kit bashed (rebuilt to look more like the real thing) or scratch built to look like NZR locos and then painted.
Waverley Layout
This HO layout was based on the Waverley Railway Station and Yards. Waverley is a small town in South Taranaki, Nth Island, New Zealand. It is about half an hours travel from my home town, Wanganui. The reason I chose to model Waverley is that the original station and yard has been preserved. With KiwiRail trains still passing through Waverley today, it means that I can run different time periods without having to change my layout. The trains I use on this layout range from the 1950's through to today including the modern milk trains that pass through Waverley today. It has been seen at one Wanganui Model Railway & Engineering Society Show and one Taupo show. This layout, is currently stored dismantled waiting for a major rebuild, I am thinking of making this bigger and it becoming my permanent layout ay home. This will mean it will no longer be available for shows.
The layout size is 4.55m long by 1.1m wide.
